Celeb Sightings and Current Filming

By Lauren S.

In previous weeks Adam Sandler was spotted filming his movie Blended at Lake Lanier.  According to Biz Journals Adam’s movie, which also stars Drew Barrymore, filmed in downtown Buford. Cast and crew were spotted at Johnson’s Pharmacy on W. Shadburn Avenue.   Adam and company will be filmed this at the Lawrenceville Hooters on Friday July 26.  Our spies also saw Adam shopping at Mall of Georgia.

Our spies also spotted Reese Witherspoon at the Waffle House on Cheshire Bridge Road. She may be here to film additional scenes for The Good Lie. Previously we saw Reese working in Atlanta in the spring.

Perez Hilton reported Honey Boo Boo (Alana Thompson), Mama June, Sugar Bear and the rest of the family were at the Civic Center taping an episode of Family Feud. The South Georgia reality stars played against the cast of another TLC reality family, the Valastros from Cake Boss. Honey Boo Boo Child and company are hoping to win money for GLADD. Per My Fox Atlanta her episode of Family Feud will air sometime this fall.

One of the top spots to celeb watch is Antico Pizza in midtown Atlanta. We spotted Drew Barrymore at the Pizza establishment when she was here filming Blended.  Per Creative Loafing she wrote a note to the owner saying how much she loves all pizza! Some other great places to spot actors and other celebrities working in Atlanta are Watershed on Peachtree Rd,  Sushi House Hayakawa on Buford Highway, South City Kitchen Midtown, and The Optimist on Howell Mill Rd.

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson was in town on July 29. He was here to shoot the season finale of his show, The Hero. Filming took place at Turner Broadcasting’s Turner Studios in midtown Atlanta.  The show’s competitors were also on hand for the taping.

Tucker Patch is reporting that Jeremy Renner is in Tucker to film his latest project, Kill The Messenger. Per IMDB, the film is about a reporter who becomes the target of a vicious smear campaign after he exposes the CIA’s role in arming Contra rebels in Nicaragua and importing cocaine into California.
