#GeorgiaFilm gets another Superhero in DC’s “Black Lightning”

Superhero geek culture is alive and well in Atlanta and it's only getting stronger with comic-based t.v. shows climbing on board for filming. While Marvel has been back-to-back since Ant-Man, they have historically kept shows locked up in NYC. Recently, more studios and productions are realizing they can "fake it" here in the South and, generally speaking, the weather and ease of filming are worlds better. The Gifted, created for FOX, based on Marvel Comics' X-Men, jumped on board this past year and starting tonight DC Comics' Black Lightning will premiere on the…continue reading →

Super Heroes Descend on Atlanta

Dumont was still in costume, rushing from the still-live set, where she had just finished filming…continue reading →

Meet Your (Super) Heroes at KidsFest

You may have seen superheroes on TV, and if you're from the Atlanta area, you may have seen the real actors playing Marvel heroes walking around downtown while they filmed. Our AMT team has seen the Avengers and Ant-Man in our Castleberry Hill neighborhood on more than one occasion. On our tours, our guests are occasionally surprised when we pull up to a filming location and waiting for them outside is one of our amazing cosplayers dressed as a well-known hero. This happened not too long ago, before the release of Captain America:…continue reading →

Celebrating Captain America with New Hero Tour

To celebrate the September 13th DVD release of Walt Disney Studio Home Entertainment's Captain America: Civil War, we partnered with Disney to give 30 super fans and bloggers a chance to explore the Marvel Universe in Atlanta.   We boarded our bus, aka Big Blue, from the Atlanta Movie Tours shop in Castleberry Hill and set off on a journey specifically catered to the filming of Captain America: Civil War. Kent, Clyde, and Josh walked us through the ins and outs of filming on a Marvel set, both in the city and at the Avengers’ headquarters…continue reading →
